Hi my name is April and I have worked at the Abyss since 2015. I’m an aquatic equipment specialist and I enjoy helping people set up the new tanks and equipment. I keep both tropical and marine, but I am mainly addicted to fighters and bettas.
Hi my name is Lucas and I am proud to be the fist ever apprentice at Abyss. I have been here since October 2017. I am very new to the fish industry but I am a keen learner. I am particularly interested in learning about how to setup new tanks and properly look after fish. I have a tropical tank at home. you can find me in the dry goods section.
I have worked in the aquatics industry for 20 years and I am a tropical aquatic sales specialist. I have a masters degree in fish disease and health, and specialise in this area and aquatic plants and aquascaping. I also really like nano species and shrimp.
I have been in the industry for over 30 years and I am a tropical aquatic sales specialist. I have a keen interest in all aspects of fish keeping, and have kept many species over the years. I particularly like species from South America, especially corys and loricaria.
I’ve recently changed career from football coach to training at the Abyss. I’ve kept fish both tropical and marine since I was a kid, but there is still so much I can learn. I work on the Marine section and my favourite fish are harlequin tusk fish.
I’ve spent the last three years studying marine biology and have recently started my training at the Abyss. I am currently working on the Marine section. There is a lot to learn and I enjoy all aspects of fish keeping. I have a soft spot for marine angels and puffers.
I’m currently training to advise in the Marine section and have an interest in all things aquatic, particularly seahorses. I’m a qualified marine mammal medic. I’m really enjoying learning about the marine species we have at Abyss.
Hi my name is Lee and I’ve worked at the Abyss since January 2016. I have always kept fish since I was a young kid which is over 30 years now! You probably will not see me down on the shop floor much as I’m normally up in the office, as I am responsible for building and maintaining the company’s websites, which includes their online stores. My partner and I currently have a range of tanks including marine, tropical and shrimp, but my favourite is my bristle-nose catfish tank.
Hello! I’m Aaron and I’ve been at the Abyss since August 2017. My favourite fish is the bird mouth wrasse, I love the colours on both the male and the female, I find their mouths interesting and weird. I work in the marine section and I specialise in identifying marine fish.
I’ve been part of the Abyss for 10 years, and I am marine care support. I maintain the marine tanks, cleaning and decorating them to a high standard. I love tangs and keep many different species at home and I also have a soft spot for coco worms and other inverts.
Hi my name is Merc and I am a aquatic equipment specialist. One of the ginger ninjas, you’ll also find me helping out in other areas of the shop. I keep both marine and tropical, and my favourites are clownfish, ancistrus pleco and other catfish.
I’m in the Marine section. I’ve kept fish for many years in which time it has become a major obsession. I have a real hunger to learn everything about Marines and then pass on my knowledge to you lovely people.
Hi my name is Tom and I have been at the Abyss since 2013. I have a B.Sc (hons) in Animal Behaviour and you will find me in the tropical section which is my passion. I specialise in L-number plecs, catfish, south American cichlids and Predators. My favourite fish is Black Arowana. You will find me in the tropical section which is my passion.
I am a tropical aquatic sales specialist and I have been at the Abyss since 2013, but I have been addicted to keeping fish for 20 years. I have a passion for South American dwarf cichlids, betta and love a good planted tank too.
Hello my name is Paddy and I have been working at the Abyss since 2013. The first 3 years part time and full time since then. My favourite fish is a Blue Spot Jawfish & favourite critter; Peacock Mantis. I love the blue spot jawfish because like me, they never stop moving and a very interesting fish to watch whilst there building their home. Peacock mantis for their colours. I have had the privilege of working in all sectors, however I am currently working on Dry Goods. I specialise in helping customers who are after no advice with tanks/equipment quickly through the tills.
I’ve worked at the Abyss since 2011 and I am an aquatic equipment specialist. I keep marine fish and my favourites are lipstick tangs and clarion angels. I specialise in tank decor and design and am always happy to help our customers any way I can.
