There’s something mystical about the Seahorse. Graceful in its propulsion through the water. Most saltwater fish use the Caudal Fin (tail fin) for movement, a Seahorse uses its dorsal fin (back fin) and pectoral fin as well as air bladders inside their bodies. At Abyss Aquatics we have a diverse range of Short Snout and Long Snout varieties.
Truly they are a natural marvel and breathtaking addition to any Salt Water Aquarium or fish tank. Also, in groups the swim with the appearance of galloping. And believe it or not, just like horses, a group of sea horses is called a herd.
Cool Seahorse fact: In the ocean, an adult will eat approximately 3000 brine shrimp fish each day. That’s some appetite!
