Fluidised reactors, also known as Fluidised bed filters, are highly efficient and effective filtration systems. They utilize a unique design that allows for the fluidization of filter media, resulting in optimal contact between the media and water. This process promotes excellent filtration and ensures superior water quality in your aquarium.

One key advantage of Fluidised reactors is their ability to provide exceptional biological filtration. The Fluidised bed environment creates an ideal habitat for beneficial bacteria to thrive and multiply. These bacteria play a crucial role in breaking down harmful substances, such as ammonia and nitrite, and converting them into less toxic compounds, promoting a healthy and balanced aquatic environment.

A bio algae grow, such as those made by TMC, is a filtration system that encourages the growth of beneficial algae to help improve water quality. As the algae grow, they absorb nutrients such as nitrate and phosphate from the water, helping to reduce excess nutrients that can contribute to unwanted algae growth in the aquarium.

Bio algae grows use a dedicated chamber where algae can grow under suitable lighting and water flow. The algae can then be harvested and removed, physically exporting the nutrients they have absorbed from the system. This makes them particularly useful in marine aquariums, where controlling nitrate and phosphate can help maintain a healthier environment for fish and corals.

Unlike conventional biological filtration, which relies on bacteria to process waste, an algae grow uses algae to take up nutrients as they grow. It can therefore complement existing filtration rather than replace it.
